This book is amazing! It combines practical tips and soul nourishing inspiration that will uplift and inspire you to create life long memories with your family in the garden. This is more than a gardening book; each chapter is full of new ways to engage, savor and grow. The Mom’s Guide to a Nourishing Garden warmed my heart, and opened my eyes to new ways to interact with the soil and my family. I loved this book and I recommend it to any Mom wanting to incorporate gardening as a way to connect with those they love most!
~Stephanie Hofhenke, Andrew & Julias Mom
You want to do more. You want to be more. You want to have more. There never seems to be enough time. Harried and stressed, but craving simplicity and balance, you’ve come to the right place.
You can regain balance and nourish not only your family but also your soul.
As moms, we can change the world we live in by starting with a simple idea. To nourish our families, we need to also nourish ourselves.
I’m inviting you to create the recipe to a more nourishing life, where the ingredients to the recipe are quite often found by pruning and pulling weeds out of our lives and digging into our roots.
When we prune and weed, what we are trying to grow becomes clearer.
Gardening to grow good food and gardening to grow a better life just makes sense. Because when we plant carrots together, we are also planting memories. Because when we harvest broccoli together, we are also harvesting health.
We are quite literally planting the seeds of healthy habits that will last a lifetime.
But it’s more than gardening to grow good food, it’s also about adding “compost” to our lives. The compost that is necessary to feed our souls. It’s the recipe to a more nourishing life.
That’s why I wrote the book “The Mom’s Guide to a Nourishing Garden”.
For the mom who craves simplicity and balance back in her life, this book is about how a family vegetable garden can not only grow healthy food that nourishes our families, but also how a garden nourishes our souls. Using the idea of a “compost” recipe to create a more nourishing life as a mom, the author, a registered dietitian and certified master gardener, guides the reader through the idea of why gardening together as a family matters so much and how planting connections in the garden sprout into memories that last a lifetime. Including everything you need to know to plant more than 35 different garden fruits and vegetables, along with 30 garden fresh recipes, this book makes family vegetable gardening not only achievable, but fun at the same time! This book is a beautiful story covering a topic all moms need to hear…where readers will be inspired to dig into their own journey and values to determine how they can add the right ingredients to create the recipe to a more nourishing life through the idea of a family vegetable garden.
