Plan Your Bucket List

Yesterday, I pulled a book out from under our bed, The Me Project, by Kathi Lipp.  The book claims its just “21 Days to Living the Life You’ve Always Wanted.”

In this book is a fascinating idea that I thought I would share on MomDay.  It’s the idea of doing a 50/50 journal.  Make a list of 50 things you want to do in the next 50 years.  Yep, pretty much like a bucket list.  I suppose I’m drawn to this because I’m about to have a birthday that will send me into more than half of my thirties.   I started writing down my list, got to like number seven, and thought to myself, what more do I really want?

Well, that’s when the list really started flowing as I started to dream and now I’m up to number 39!  I have a few things on my list that are pretty frivolous and fun like going on a hot air balloon ride or driving an RV across America with my husband and kids on Route 66.  But there are some serious ones like writing a book and writing letters to my kids about life lessons.

Making a list like this made me focus on the things I really want.  And when I take a look over the list I have so far, surprisingly very few of them actually cost any money.  Many of them are devoted to either doing or learning something.

The book goes on to say to just pick one project of the 50 to work on starting now.  So that’s the journey I am embarking on.

What would be on your list?  And which project would you start today?
