Once in a great while a long time ago, I would happen upon the show MTV’s Cribs. I didn’t care about the fancy pools, the giant bathrooms, the endless bedrooms or the expensive cars in the garage. I only really wanted to see one thing: inside the frig. Always fascinating, sometimes empty, I liked looking at the brands of food in the refrigerator door (no matter how brief that glimpse was) or the food on the shelves. More often than not though, it was only filled with beverages, not food. Which always seemed to make me think, they must not be home much or they have a private chef.
Well, I am neither of those. We are home a lot (I love that) and the closest thing to a private chef is the person I see in the mirror. And when Robin Plotkin, from Robin’s Bite, a Texas dietitian I met a couple of years ago at a Soy Food Blogger Tour and then again at Blog Brulee, invited me to her feature of “Inside the Frig”, I decided to take her up on it!
